Our first couchsurfer - Andreas

Well how hard can it be when you say  “meet at the front of Southern Cross station?”

It took a good afternoon to retrieve our first guest to the Kew Household.

Winnie had decided to try give up cigarettes on this day and this was not a good idea.  The day probably started with a few things being thrown and flung around the house.  By 3pm and after 2 or 3 text messages even the phone got thrown on the table.

This is where man steps in, lends a hand to find the German at Southern Cross station.  After at least 3 circles we were still unable to locate him.

Then after another scare - a feral hippy running toward the car (my heart lost a beat somewhere here and wanted to be quick enough to suggest flooring it and speeding off), we finally found him.

Promptly he was taken to trampoline for a frozen yoghurt, home for a little, and then to Blue Corn in St Kilda for some Mexican dinner. Yummy fish tacos shared with wifey and a platter of dips.

Then a quick tour where Andreas quickly became uncomfortable with our suggestions to see the local hookers in action on Grey / Barkly street St Kilda.

Kyla’s 5th birthday

Jackie’s Sideways Birthday

The only thing that can lure me out of the house on a cold winters night is promise of a good party.

Started off in the back room of the morning star, then a hop skip n jump to Jackies house for lounge room dancing, random visitors, pass the parcel, russian mules, limbo dancing, pretty lights cd played on repeat, an early morning taxi ride to another party in yarraville.

Radio Station Burbank W Olive Gv

Met a guy called Jason at Lenny’s birthday who offered to show me round his radio station he works at.

Helena and I waited in the heat of the sun for Jason who then proudly gave us a tour of the FM radio stations siting the garden area outside for where bands can often play impromptu.  Upstairs there were lots of radio station studios busy editing, recording, and live on the air.

Dave used to live in Melbourne and worked for Fox FM, he had a pretty sweet office with  a primo view of LA as well as a cool figurine collection.
